Cognitive admin is a toggleable permission available to any organization admin. A cognitive admin can grant cognitive access to any employee in PI Hire.
What is cognitive access?
Cognitive access is the ability to view and send cognitive data in Hire.
By default, employees do not have cognitive access. They must be granted that access by an existing cognitive admin.
Who is my cognitive admin?
Cognitive admin is assigned to the first organization admin at your company. This status is assigned automatically.
Note: For subsequent organization admins, cognitive admin will be disabled by default. Only an existing cognitive admin can promote or demote other cognitive admins.
How to promote a cognitive admin
- Log in to the PI software
- Click the gear icon () in the top-right of the navigation bar.
- You will land on the People tab within the Administration page.
- Click “Employee Access Settings” on the left-hand side.
- Search for the name or email of the employee you’d like to make a cog admin.
- Click on the person’s name.
- You’ll land on their “Edit employee details” page.
- Scroll down to the “Admin Permissions” section.
- Click the “Make Organization Admin” checkbox (if not already selected).
- Click the “Make Cognitive Admin” checkbox.
- Confirm by hitting the “Save changes” button.
How to demote a cognitive admin
- Follow steps 1 through 8 from the section above.
- De-select the “Make Cognitive Admin” checkbox.
- (Optional) De-select the “Make Organization Admin” checkbox.
- Confirm by hitting the “Save changes” button.
FAQ
Note: Any cognitive admin can promote/demote other cognitive admins. This means whoever had cognitive admin access by default may no longer have it.
Verify that the “Make organization admin” checkbox is toggled on before you select the “Make cognitive admin” option.
To find an active cognitive admin:
1. Log in to the PI software.
2. Click the gear icon () in the top-right of the navigation bar.
3. You will land on the People tab within the Administration page.
4. Select “Employee Access Settings” on the left-hand side.
5. You’ll see a summary of every employee’s access levels.
6. Click the table header titled Cog Admin.
7. The list will filter for any active cog admins, denoted with a checkmark.
Note: You must be an organization admin to view the Employee Access Settings page.
