Using the Job Ad Builder

Learn how to use the Job Ad Builder in PI Hire to improve an existing job ad or create one from scratch using behavioral data, and attract the right talent for the role.

This article applies to all Hire users in the PI2 platform.

The Job Ad Builder lets you create a job ad (or refine an existing one) using data from an active Behavioral Target. Use the Job Ad Builder to craft tailored job postings that attract talent with the behavioral traits needed for success in a given role.

How to access the job ad builder

  1. Log in to the PI software.

  2. Select Hire from the top navigation bar.

  3. You will land on the Hiring Center.

  4. Search for and select an existing job (or create a new job).

  5. On the Job Target screen, click on the tab labeled "Job Details."

  6. Select "Job ad builder" on the left-hand side.

  7. Click "Draft with AI."

Tip: Alternatively, you can trigger the Job Ad Builder by selecting the ellipsis button to the right of a job in Hiring Center, then "Draft job ad."

  8. The Job Ad Builder will open.

Using the Job Ad Builder

Upon opening the Job Ad Builder, a pair of quick start prompts will allow you to either:

  • Create a job ad from scratch

  • Use an existing job ad as a starting point

Alternatively, you can enter a custom prompt based on your exact needs.

When creating a job ad from scratch, the Job Ad Builder will analyze your active Behavioral Target and create a job ad based on the data. It will then ask you to provide 3-5 core job duties, which it will use to further personalize the job ad.

As you work in the Job Ad Builder, any text the AI tool generates will appear on the right-hand side. Provide follow-up prompts to get the content closer to your specifications, then use our in-line editor to refine the copy further and style it to your liking.

When satisfied with a draft, save it to your job.

Editing, copying, or downloading your job ad

Back within the job, you'll see your new job ad appear on the "Job ad builder" page.

Click the "Make edits" button to re-open the Job Ad Builder screen, allowing you to make direct edits to the copy or prompt the tool to make changes.

Click the "copy" button to save the job ad to your clipboard so you can paste it on your job site of choice.

Alternatively, clicking "download" will save a PDF version of the job ad to your browser and/or file manager. Use this PDF to easily share the job ad internal or post it externally.

How to disable the Job Ad Builder

If your organization would like to disable the Job Ad Builder (or any other AI functionality in PI2), you can do so from PI Administration.

To do so:

  1. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Select the "Organization Settings" tab.

  3. Click "AI Settings" on the left-hand side.

  4. Uncheck the "Enable use of AI to draft job ads" checkbox under "Hire Job Ad Builder."

  5. Confirm with "Save changes."

FAQs

Can I download/export my job ad?

Yes. You can copy or download your job ad at any time by clicking the "Copy" or "Download" button on the right-hand side of your job ad page.

Does the Job Ad Builder save the job description?

Yes. Once you input your job ad into the Job Ad Builder, the tool will save the copy for future use. You can find and access the job description by clicking the "Job Ad Builder" page within the Job Details page in Hire.

Any future changes to your job ad will also be saved, provided you click "Save to job" prior to navigating away from the tool.

Can I use a job ad or description to create a Job Target from scratch?

No. The Job Ad Builder helps ensure your job description accurately reflects an existing Behavioral Target. It is not able to create a net-new target from your job description alone.

That said, you can manually modify your Behavioral Target at any time. Feel free to modify the target to account for discrepancies between the target and the job ad content.
