I received a "dead end" software error. What now?

Learn what to do if you receive the "You've reached a dead end" error when using the Predictive Index software.

Updated yesterday

This article applies to all users in the PI2 software.

When logging in to the Predictive Index software, you may encounter an error that reads, "You've reached a dead end. The page you are looking for does not exist."

This error is thrown when PI does not recognize the page you are currently on. Thankfully, the solution is relatively straightforward.

How to solve: Most of the time, this issue can be resolved by clicking to a different part of the PI software.

1. Try clicking the PI logo in the top-left corner of your screen.

2. You should be brought back to the PI homepage.

3. From here, you can return to your desired workflow using the "I'd like to" shortcuts on the left-hand side, or by clicking on a specific product panel.

FAQs

I tried the above steps and it didn't resolve the issue. What now?

If you're still seeing the "dead end" error message even after clicking on your homepage, there may be an issue with your browser or cache.

Here are some recommended troubleshooting steps:

  • Try clearing your cache, then reload the page. (You'll likely have to sign back in to the PI software.)

  • If the issue persists, try logging in to PI using a different browser.

If you try both solutions and still cannot reach the PI dashboard, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

I keep getting this issue whenever I log in. Is there a way to fix this?

It's possible that the URL you're using to log in to the PI platform is a legacy login page. Please make sure you're logging in using the following URL: https://app.predictiveindex.com/

If you have older PI login pages bookmarked, please make sure to update those bookmarks to the new URL.

I'm receiving a different error: "You are trying to access an account that you don't have proper permissions to view."

If you are receiving this error, it means you don't currently have access to the PI product you are trying to use.

How to solve: Please reach out to an organization admin, and request that they give you access to the PI product you're trying to use.
