Viewing and downloading Obi chat history

Learn how to view chat history for Obi by PI, and download chats you'd like to retain or share.

This article applies to all users in the PI2 software. (Requires an active PI Inspire subscription.)


Use Obi's chat history function to hop between active conversations, revisit older conversations, or download transcripts for your own personal records.

How to view Obi chat history

  1. Log in to the PI software.

  2. Click the “Ask Obi” button in the top-right corner.

  3. Obi will open as a side panel.

  4. Click the more actions (...) button in the top-right corner of the window.

  5. Select "Chat history" from the available options.

  6. You will see a list of recent chats on the left-hand side of the side-panel (or full-width page).

  7. (Optional) Hover your cursor over a chat to see its full title.

  8. (Optional) Use the search bar to find and select a specific chat.

How to rename an Obi chat

  1. Hover over a chat. An ellipsis button (...) will appear.

  2. Click the ellipsis button.

  3. Select the "Rename" button from the available options.

  4. A pop-up will appear prompting you to enter a new title.

  5. Click "Save" to confirm.

How to download an Obi chat transcript

  1. Hover over a chat. An ellipsis button (...) will appear.

  2. Click the ellipsis button.

  3. Select the "Download" button from the available options.

  4. The conversation will download as a .TXT file.

How to delete an Obi chat

  1. Hover over a chat. An ellipsis button (...) will appear.

  2. Click the ellipsis button.

  3. Select the "Delete" button from the available options.

  4. The selected chat will be deleted, and the following success message will appear: Chat deleted.

Note: Upon clicking "delete," the chat will immediately be erased; this information cannot be recovered. Please make sure you no longer need access before deleting.

Tip: You can download a copy of your transcripts at any time. We highly recommend doing so before deleting a chat.
