This article applies to client-side IT administrators and technical sponsors responsible for enabling PI's MCP connector during the current Pre Beta phase.

Note: Before proceeding, ensure you've achieved the PI-specific prerequisites for enabling the MCP.
Who can add the connector to Claude?
In Team and Enterprise plans, only an Owner or Primary Owner can add the connector; members then connect individually. If you do not see an "Organization settings" section, you are not an Owner. On Free, Pro, and Max plans, each user adds it themselves.
Claude calls the connector from Anthropic’s cloud rather than from the administrator’s device (see Appendix A). The paths below are for claude.ai on the web; Claude Desktop uses the equivalent settings.
How to connect PI to Claude — Self-service (Free, Pro, Max)
Open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, enter the connector URL, and add it. Then complete the "Connecting your account" section below. Free plans allow one custom connector.
How to connect PI to Claude — Org-wide (Team and Enterprise)
Important: You must be an Owner or Primary Owner in Claude to perform these steps.
Sign in as an Owner and open Settings → Organization settings → Connectors.
Choose to add a connector, select the custom or web option, and enter the connector URL.
Add the connector. "Obi by PI" will appear in the connector list.
Open it and set the org-wide permission level for each tool. You can select from the following:
Always allow
Needs approval (the user confirms each call)
Blocked (hidden from users)
Have users complete the "Connecting your account" section below.
Enterprise workspaces can scope the connector to specific groups using a custom role; this is configured in your organization’s "Groups and Roles" settings. Allow several minutes and a page refresh for changes to take effect.
Note: Connectors cannot be edited after they are added. If the wrong URL is added, you must remove it, re-add it, and have everyone reconnect.
Connecting your account (each user)
Open Settings → Connectors and select "Obi by PI." If it is absent, it has not been added, or it is set to "Blocked."
Select "Connect," sign in to PI, and approve the connection. The user will return to Claude connected.
In a conversation, open the + menu, find Connectors, and switch Obi by PI on.
