The PI software helps you make talent optimization improvements across the entire employee lifecycle—from hiring to performance, development, and engagement.
To help your organization get the most out of the platform, you’ll want to understand the ins and outs of the Administration experience.
In this article, we’ll walk through the most important things any PI admin should know, including:
- Accessing Administration
- Employee management
- Assessment sending
- User access levels
- Organization settings
Accessing Administration
Everything you need to succeed as a PI admin is located in one of two places:
- Your dashboard (quickly send assessments and view recent software activity)
- Administration (manage users, send assessments in bulk, set permissions, and modify settings)
To access Administration, click the gear icon () in the top-right of the navigation bar.
Employee management
One of the most important pages is your employee directory, accessible via the People tab.
Here, you’ll manage data associated with the employees at your organization, such as their email, job title, manager, and PI Behavioral Assessment results.
Read about common actions you’ll take from the employee directory:
- Import an organization file to populate your directory.
- Invite new employees into the software.
- Archive employees to retire their PI data.
- Transfer ownership of jobs, teams, and surveys.
Assessment sending
While you can send assessments from various parts of the software, Administration gives you greater flexibility in how you send these assessments.
- To assess a handful of employees, send individual assessments via the employee directory.
- To assess many employees at once, send assessments in bulk by importing an organization file.
Note: Want to send assessments to candidates? Do so directly from PI Hire.
User access levels
Access levels control what actions users can perform within specific PI products. Each software user at your organization can be assigned a specific access level for each product.
Example: If your company is subscribed to PI Hire and PI Inspire, you can make someone a “product admin” in Hire, but a “limited” user in Inspire.
For more on access levels:
- Learn about each of the different employee access levels.
- Learn how to toggle third-party access on or off.
Organization settings
Organization settings, located via the Organization Settings tab, apply to your entire company when enabled (or disabled).
Here are some noteworthy settings to prioritize:
- Assessment Settings: Modify the number of days before assessment invitations expire, include Optional Research Questions, and enable a consent function.
- Multi-Factor Authentication: Enable MFA for all employees who log in to the platform.
- Organization Domains: Manage email domains associated with your organization’s PI subscription.
