Downloading or emailing a candidate’s Cognitive Report

Learn how to download or email a candidate's Cognitive Report in PI Hire, so you can share cognitive data outside of the actual software.

This article applies to Hire users with cognitive access in the PI2 platform.

Want to share a candidate’s cognitive results outside of the PI software? You can do so by downloading or emailing the candidate’s Cognitive Report.

What is the Cognitive Report?

The Cognitive Report is a PDF document containing information about a candidate’s PI Cognitive Assessment (“CA”) results.

When a candidate completes the CA, two versions of their Cognitive Report will populate in the software: the full report and the simplified report.

Full report

The full Cognitive Report provides a readout of all cognitive data on the candidate. This data includes:

  • The Cognitive Target set for the job

  • The candidate’s cognitive score, and a visual representation of where that score sits relative to the target

  • A summary of the candidate’s cognitive fit (either Strong, Moderate, or Cautionary)

  • The candidate’s cognitive subscores across three categories: Verbal, Numeric, and Abstract Reasoning

Simplified report

The simplified Cognitive Report provides a more limited readout of a candidate’s cognitive data.

In this version of the Cognitive Report, only the candidate’s cognitive score is made visible.

Everything else — the Cognitive Target, cognitive fit, and subscores — are hidden.

How to download or email the Cognitive Report

  1. Log in to the PI software.

  2. Select Hire from the top navigation bar.

  3. You will land on the Hiring Center.

  4. Click the Candidates tab.

  5. Search for the candidate whose data you'd like to review. (Alternatively, you can search for the job currently associated with this candidate.)

  6. Click on the candidate's name.

  7. You will land on the candidate's page.

  8. Click the "Email or download reports" button to the right of their name.

  9. A panel titled "Email or Download Reports" will open.

  10. Select “Cognitive Report” from the available options.

  11. Select which version — either “Full report” or “Simplified report” — you’d like to download.

  12. (Optional) Select any additional resources you would like to email or download.

To download the report(s):

  1. Click the "Download items" button.

  2. A PDF will download containing the candidate's Cognitive Report. (Any additional resources will download as separate files.)

To email the report(s):

  1. Click the "Email items" button.

  2. A panel titled "Email Reports" will open.

  3. Here, you will see the candidate's name along with a summary of any reports you've selected to send.

  4. Next, you will be prompted to select the desired recipients. (By default, the reports will be emailed to you, but you can uncheck this option if you'd like.)

  5. Enter the email of any person to whom you'd like to email the report(s). (You can email up to 10 people at a time.)

  6. You'll also have a chance to preview the email that will be sent to recipients. You can edit the subject line, as well as the message that shows up in the email body.

  7. There's also standard email content included in every report email. You can preview that email by clicking "Preview the full email." (We've also included it below.)

  8. Once you're satisfied with the email message, click "Email report(s)" to send the reports to the recipients.

FAQs

Why are there two versions of the Cognitive Report?

Cognitive data is an extremely sensitive piece of candidate information. We provide two different versions of the Cognitive Report to give you flexibility in deciding what data you’re comfortable including.

Generally speaking, we strongly recommend keeping any candidate cognitive data strictly within your hiring team.

The “Cognitive Report” option is greyed out. Why?

There are three main reasons the option may be greyed out.

  1. A Cognitive Target has not been set for this job.

  2. This candidate has not been sent (or has not completed) the PI Cognitive Assessment.

  3. You do not have access to view cognitive data. To get access, reach out to your cognitive admin.

Is it possible to view cognitive subscores directly in the software?

Yes. You can find cognitive subscores on the Cognitive Target Fit page, accessible via the Job Fit tab for a particular candidate.

Directly underneath the candidate's cognitive score, you'll see an expandable section titled "Cognitive Subscores."

Expand that section, and you'll see a breakdown of each subscore based on the number correct, missed (i.e., incorrect), and unanswered.
