Using the Manager Dashboard

Use PI Perform's Manager Dashboard to view usage data for your direct team, and ensure your team is getting the most value from Perform.

Updated this week

This article applies to managers with Perform access in the PI2 platform.

If you're denoted as a "manager" in the PI software, you'll automatically have access to the Manager Dashboard as part of your normal Perform access.

Use this dashboard to see how employees on your team are currently leveraging Perform, so you can get the most out of the product.

Tip: Looking for organization-wide Perform analytics data? Visit the Analytics tab in the Admin Console. (Requires admin access)

How to access the Manager Dashboard

  1. Log in to Perform.

  2. Click "Settings" on the left-hand side.

  3. Select "Manager Dashboard" from the available options.

  4. You will land on the Manager Dashboard.

Note: You must be denoted as a "manager" in the PI system to see and access this dashboard. If you do not see this setting but are a people manager, ask an admin at your organization to enable the "Is a manager" checkbox on your "Edit employee details" page in Administration.

What's included in the Manager Dashboard?

The Manager Dashboard includes the following insights:

  • Team Activity

  • Meeting Time

  • Relationship Cadence

  • Management Scorecard

  • Workspace Activity

  • Feedback Summary

  • Team Goals

Tip: At the top of the dashboard, you can set the timeframe to 1 of 3 options: either 30 days, 60 days, or year to date. All data on the dashboard will update based on the specified timeframe.

Team Activity

View a by-week breakdown of overall team activity. Activity is broken up into 8 different buckets:

  • Discussion Topics created

  • Action Items created

  • Discussion Topics completed

  • Action Items completed

  • Goals created

  • Feedback given

  • Kudos given

  • Comments added

Meeting Time

Connect your calendar to see a breakdown of how much time you're currently spending in meetings.

Relationship Cadence

See how frequently you're currently meeting with teammates.

Any Perform user with whom you share a workspace (either a 1:1 or a group workspace) will populate within this panel. The size of the dots indicate how much interaction you're having with each user in Perform — a larger dot means more exchanges, whereas a smaller dot means fewer.

Management Scorecard

View how much each of your reports has participated in the following Perform features:

  • 1:1s – See overall 1:1 participation levels for each report. (This is calculated based on each user's calendar integration, if enabled.)

  • Feedback – See whether reports have received and/or given feedback within the specified timeframe.

  • Goals – See whether each report has participated in a goal within the specified timeframe.

Workspace Activity

View each report's number of action items and discussion topics, along with their status:

  • Action items – View "open," "completed," and "overdue" actions.

  • Discussion topics – View "open" vs. "closed" topics.

Tip: These fields are sortable, allowing you to see which users are engaging most (or least) with Perform.

Feedback Summary

View how much feedback (either 1:1 or 360) each report has given or received during the specified timeframe, as well as how much kudos they've given or received.

Tip: These fields are sortable, allowing you to see at a glance which users may be due for recognition and/or providing feedback of their own.

Team Goals

View the number of Goals that were created, completed, and/or open for each report during the specified timeframe.

Tip: These fields are sortable, allowing you to see hotspots (or gaps) within current team Goals.

FAQs

I'm a manager but don't have access to the Manager Dashboard. Why?

You must be denoted as a "manager" in the PI system to see and access this dashboard.

If you do not see this setting but are a people manager, ask an admin at your organization to enable the "Is a manager" checkbox on your "Edit employee details" page in Administration.

How does Perform determine who is a "report" for the purposes of the Manager Dashboard?

Perform considers anyone with whom you share a 1:1 workspace as a report. These people will all show up on your Manager Dashboard.

Note: This only applies to the Manager Dashboard in Perform. In all other areas of the PI software, reports are determined based on each person's manager data. Manager data can be viewed and updated at any time via the employee directory. (Requires admin access)

"X" report uses Perform regularly but their 1:1 participation level is red. Why?

It's possible the report still needs to connect their calendar to Perform. Doing so will allow Perform to track meeting participation, which then feeds into the Manager Dashboard.
