Adding new candidates to a job

Learn how to add new candidates to a job in PI Hire, so you can send assessments and see whether their results are aligned with the role.

To view a candidate's job fit or leverage tools like the Interview Builder, you must first add that candidate to a job.

How to add a new candidate to a job

  1. Log in to the PI software.

  2. Select Hire from the top navigation bar.

  3. You will land on the Hiring Center.

  4. Create a job (or select an existing job).

  5. Click the Candidates tab near the top of the screen.

  6. Click the “Add Candidates” button.

  7. Select the assessments you want to send this candidate, then hit “Next.”

  8. Enter the candidate’s details, then click “Send & add to job.”

  9. The person will be added to the job.

FAQs

Why can’t I see “X” candidate?

There are 2 common reasons why you might not see a candidate in Hire:

  • That person has not been sent the PI Behavioral Assessment. (This likely means they’re not currently in the PI system.)

  • That candidate is currently unattached to a job. (They’re in the PI system, but you might not have access to see them.)

To view unattached candidates, request admin access from another admin at your organization.

I entered a candidate's email address but the system won't let me add them. Why?

By default, PI Hire should allow you to add any candidate email. Check to make sure:

  • The email address is accurate

  • The email domain (e.g., @gmail.com) doesn't have typos

  • The candidate doesn't already exist in the system

  • If the candidate does already exist, you have access to view/move them

Note: If the candidate already exists, the system should recognize that and let you know you're about to move them from an existing job.

If you see an error when trying to move an existing candidate, it likely means you don't have "edit" access to the job they're currently associated with. Learn more about job access.
