Using your employee assessment link

Learn how to find your employee assessment link in PI Administration, so you can quickly copy and share within your organization.

Updated this week

This article applies to organization admins, product admins, and third-party users in the PI2 platform.

Use the “Employee Assessments” page, located in PI Administration, to share an open invitation (OI) link with any employee you’d like to complete the PI Behavioral Assessment.

Note: This link is designed to be used with employees, and requires your organization to be subscribed to PI Inspire.

To share a link with candidates, you should instead use a candidate assessment link (requires PI Hire).

How your employee assessment link works

Any organization that is subscribed to Inspire also has a dedicated employee assessment link. This link, available to all admins and Inspire users, can be accessed in one of three places:

Simply copy the assessment link, then share it with employees at your organization. Anyone who clicks the link will be prompted to complete the PI Behavioral Assessment (“BA”). Upon completing the BA, these employees will be added to your employee directory, where you can view high-level results, such as Reference Profile data.

Tip: To view deeper behavioral insights on employees, navigate to PI Inspire or PI Perform.

Why use an employee assessment link?

Your employee assessment link gives you greater control over how you send PI assessments. By using the link, you can share it with employees as part of an existing workflow, like onboarding or a company off-site.

This employee link can be modified, allowing your organization to customize the BA-taking experience to your liking. For instance, you can choose which notifications are sent upon completing the assessment, and to whom.

Important: Unlike candidate assessment links, which are unique to each job in PI Hire, the employee assessment link is a single link shared by your entire organization. When modifying your link settings, keep in mind that the changes will apply to any employee who subsequently uses the link.

Prefer to email the assessment to specific employees? Here’s how to do so.

I'd prefer to send assessments to employees without sharing an assessment link. How?

You can email assessments to employees from one of two places:

Email domains

An employee told me the link won't accept their email address. Why?

By default, anyone who uses the employee assessment link must use an email address that matches one of your allowed organization email domains. This is in place to ensure those who use the link are in fact employees.

If a person tries to use the link with a non-matching email, they will receive an error message.

Tip: If you'd like to allow employees with non-matching emails (e.g., freemail domains) to take the Behavioral Assessment, enable the domain override setting. Doing so will allow any person who uses the link to complete the BA.

Important: Once the domain override is enabled, anyone with access to your employee link can now use it. Anyone who uses the link will be added to your employee directory, even if they aren't an employee (e.g., friends and family).

As a best practice, we recommend keeping this URL confidential and refraining from sharing it beyond your employee base.

If the employee link isn't meant for non-employees, how do I share with friends and family?

The Predictive Index is designed for workplace use. Currently, the PI platform does not support sending the Behavioral Assessment to anyone who isn't a candidate or an employee.

That said, we know sending the Behavioral Assessment to friends and family is a popular experience many of our clients have enjoyed in the past. If you would like to see functionality dedicated to general PI use, please submit your feature request here.

Assessment notifications

I'm not getting notifications from my assessment link. Why?

There are two possible reasons why you might not be receiving notifications:

  1. Your assessment link notifications are set to "none."

  2. You're not currently added as a notification recipient.

To troubleshoot either issue, follow the instructions for "How to modify notification settings" from the Editing your employee link settings section of this article.

Who does the “link owner” refer to?

The link owner is an assignable designation that allows someone in your organization (e.g., an HR manager, an L&D leader) to get notified whenever an employee uses the assessment link.

Note: Only one link owner can be assigned at a single time.

To see your current link owner:

  1. Navigate to the “Employee Assessments” page.

  2. Click “Configure assessment link settings” in the bottom-right corner.

  3. A panel will open titled "Edit assessment link settings."

  4. Expand the section titled “Notification settings.”

Within the box titled “Link owner,” you will see the current person with the link owner designation. (You can modify the link owner at any time.)
