Sending assessments to employees (Administration)

Learn how to send assessments to employees in The Predictive Index, and start leveraging behavioral insights across the PI platform.

This article applies to organization admins and product admins in the PI2 software.


Want to send the PI Behavioral Assessment to employees at your organization? Admins can do so from the Employee Directory.

Tip: Don't have access to the employee directory? You can also send the Behavioral Assessment to employees from the PI dashboard.

How to send the PI Behavioral Assessment to employees

  1. Log in to the PI software.

  2. Click the gear icon () in the top-right of the navigation bar.

  3. You will land on the Employee Directory within the Administration page.

  4. Search for the name or email of the intended assessment recipient.

  5. Select the ellipsis button () on the right-hand side.

  6. Click “Send assessment.”

  7. An invitation to take the assessment will be sent to that person’s email.

Note: Want to send assessment invites faster? You can do so by uploading an organization file or by sharing an open invitation link.

FAQs

An employee told me the assessment is greyed out. What now?

If an employee reports the Behavioral Assessment is greyed out, there are 2 common reasons why:

Scenario #1: The employee is referring to their name and email address. These fields are pre-filled when you send the assessment to them via PI, and cannot be modified.

How to solve: Ask the employee to review their information. Provided everything looks good, they should scroll down, click "Continue," and take the Behavioral Assessment as normal.

(If their name or email is incorrect, you can edit the employee's details at any time.)

Scenario #2: The employee selected the "I have already taken the PI Behavioral Assessment..." checkbox, inputted a number or response, then tried to proceed.

How to solve: If the employee has a valid Behavioral Score ID, they can enter it and submit their behavioral results without retaking the assessment.

Otherwise, ask the employee to deselect the checkbox, click "Continue," and take the Behavioral Assessment as normal.

Can I bulk send assessments to multiple employees at once?

Yes. To bulk send assessments to employees, we recommend uploading an organization file with the people you'd like to invite to take the Behavioral Assessment.

Alternatively, you can send multiple assessments from the employee directory. To do so:

  1. Log in to the PI software.

  2. Click the gear icon () in the top-right of the navigation bar.

  3. You will land on the Employee Directory within the Administration page.

  4. Search for the name(s) or email(s) of the intended assessment recipients.

  5. Click the checkbox on the left-hand side of each person’s name.

  6. Click the dropdown titled “Actions” above the top-most checkbox.

  7. Select “Send assessments.”

  8. An invitation to take the assessment will be sent to each person’s email.

Is it possible to send an employee the assessment without inviting them to the software?

Yes. To do so, upload that person's data via organization file. You will have the option to invite that person to the software. Skip that step, then proceed to send the assessment as normal.

​​Note: If you change your mind later, you can easily invite that person using the Employee Directory.

I got an error message when sending the assessment. Why?

If you received an error, it's for one of two reasons:

  1. The intended recipient has already completed the PI Behavioral Assessment, so no action is needed.

  2. The intended recipient doesn't have a first and/or last name associated with their PI account email address. To solve this, edit that person's employee record and add their name.

What is the PI Behavioral Assessment?

I'm not an admin. How can I invite co-workers to take the assessment?

You can invite co-workers to take the assessment from the following places:

Is it possible to send the assessment to employees via invitation link?

Yes, you can.

Is it possible to send a reminder email to the Behavioral Assessment taker?

No. Currently, there is no way to send a reminder email for the PI Behavioral Assessment. That said, you can resend the assessment, which will resend the initial email. (See: next question)

Is it possible to resend a pending Behavioral Assessment to an employee?

Yes. To resend a pending Behavioral Assessment to an employee:

  1. Navigate to the employee directory.

  2. Click the dropdown labeled "Current employees."

  3. Select "Employees with BA not completed" from the dropdown options.

  4. Find the employee to whom you'd like to resend the Behavioral Assessment.

  5. Click the "more actions" button on the right-hand side.

  6. Click "Resend assessment."

  7. You will see a success message in the bottom-right corner.

  8. The employee will receive a new copy of the Behavioral Assessment invitation email.

Is it possible to cancel a pending employee Behavioral Assessment?

No. Once an assessment has been sent, it cannot be revoked and the assessment invitation will last indefinitely.

Tip: Did the employee in question recently leave your organization? You can archive the employee and/or anonymize their data at any time.
