This article applies to Diagnose admins and organization admins in the PI2 software.
Heatmaps are a powerful way to visualize engagement trends across your organization. In this article, we'll explain how to view and filter heatmap data, so you can address disengagement at its source.
Note: Heatmaps are only available for the PI Employee Experience ("XP") Survey. Heatmaps for pulse surveys are not currently supported.
How to view survey heatmap data
Log in to the PI software.
Select Diagnose from the top navigation bar.
Select the XP Survey you'd like to analyze. (Note: The survey must be "Closed" to view heatmap data. If the survey is "Ready to close," you must manually close it before proceeding.)
You will land on the "Overview" page within the "Analyze" tab.
Select "Heatmap" on the left-hand side.
You will land on the Heatmap page for your XP Survey.
How Diagnose heatmaps work
Upon landing on the Heatmap page, you will see a breakdown of engagement scores for each department at your organization.
In addition to viewing data by Department, you can also filter heatmap data by the following fields:
Overall manager
Direct manager
Employee type
Employee level
Location
Tenure
Custom 1 (if you previously added a custom field)
Custom 2 (")
Custom 3 (")
How to filter heatmap data
From the Heatmap page:
Click the dropdown menu titled "Department" under the words "View by."
Select the filter by which you'd like to view heatmap data.
Your heatmap will filter accordingly.
Note: To protect employee anonymity, heatmap scores only populate for filters that yield at least 5 responses.
Example: 100 people took the PI Employee Experience Survey. Within the Product Management department, only 4 people took the survey.
When filtering by department, you will not see heatmap data for the Product Management department.
