If you have an existing all-star employee in a role, you can model your Behavioral Target after that top performer.
How to model after a top performer
- Log in to the PI software.
- Select Hire from the top navigation bar.
- You’ll land on the Hiring Center.
- Select the relevant job.
- Click “Model after a top performer” on the left-hand side.
The following steps depend on whether your top performer has existing Behavioral Assessment data in the system.
If they haven’t taken the Behavioral Assessment:
- Enter the first name, last name, and email address of the employee whose Behavioral Pattern you want to use for this new benchmark.
- Select Send Assessment & Continue.
If they have taken the Behavioral Assessment:
- Search for their name or email.
- Select “Add & Continue.”
- The person you selected will receive an email with a link to take the PI Behavioral Assessment.
- As you await the results of this person’s assessment, the “Job Target” page will show as pending completion.
- You will receive an email as soon as they’ve completed the assessment.
Note: You can only choose one top performer for a given job. This person can be an internal employee or an external party.
How to enable top performer results
Before you’re able to use top performer results as your Behavioral Target, you must first enable it.
Here’s how to do so:
- Once you receive the email notifying you that your top performer has completed their BA, log back in to Hire.
- The person’s data will populate within the “pending” section.
- (Optional) Click the “Show full descriptions” toggle to view their results in greater detail.
- You can now choose whether to set the Behavioral Target using the recommendation in the software or by using the top performer’s target. (In either instance, you’ll see the Behavioral Target, key characteristics, and common Reference Profiles.)
Note: The recommended Behavioral Target can be refined, but the top performer’s target cannot.
- Choose which Behavioral Target you’d like to move forward with by selecting the Set as Job Target button.
- The orange arrow on the left, under “Benchmarks,” will show which source is being used for the Job Target. You can switch between the system-generated target and your top performer at any time.
- Once you’ve chosen which Behavioral Target you’d like to move forward with, click “Let’s Continue” at the bottom of the page.
- Once the top performer data is applied, you’ll see the following information tip: “We generated this Behavioral Target using [top performer’s] results. Keep your team dynamics in mind—your team might benefit most from someone who can balance and complement [top performer’s] behaviors.”
